111-10Local Palestinian sources told Ma’an that three Palestinians were detained from the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, and identified them as Samir al-Dweik, Ashour Muhammad Abd al-Rahim Ajlouni, and Khalid Mansour al-Natsheh.
Also in the southern West Bank, Mahmoud Jamal Sabbah,18, was detained from the Bethlehem area village of Tuqu, while locals from the Ramallah area village of Silwad reported that Muhammad Abd al-Hamid al-Shawarib was detained by Israeli forces from his home.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed a total of five detentions to Ma’an, citing three in the city of Hebron — one of whom was and alleged “Hamas operative” — one in Silwad, and one in Tuqu.
Local sources also reported that Sulayman Ahmad Khazimiyah, 37, and Nasir Subhi Taraza, 25, were detained during raids on their homes the Jenin-area village of Qabatiya in the northern occupied West Bank.
Also in the Jenin district, Osama Subeh and Tariq Sabah were detained from the village of Burqin.
Local sources in the Jerusalem district reported that Israeli forces detained Jihad Nasir Qaws, Mahmoud Abd al-Latif, and Mutasim Hajjaj.
Israeli forces conduct night raids across the occupied Palestinian territory on a near-daily basis. According to UN documentation, the Israeli army carried out 178 detention raids from Oct. 4 to 17.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, 7,000 Palestinians were held in Israeli prisons as of August. The organization estimates that 40 percent of Palestinian men have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
