Four Palestinians were killed and one was critically injured in a car accident near the village of al-Samu in southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron before dawn on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that Rateb Muhammad Mahmoud Darabie, Said Khamis Rasras, 33, Ibrahim Issa al-Arjan, 50, and Salah Ghatasheh, 44, were all killed in the accident, while Jamil Ismail Ghatasheh was critically injured.They were all reportedly residents of the nearby al-Fawwar refugee camp.

Red Crescent and Civil Defense crews arrived to the area and evacuated them to the al-Ahli, al-Mizan, and Hebron Governmental hospitals.Palestinian police spokesperson Luay Irzeiqat told Ma’an that the accident occurred between two private vehicles at the al-Samu crossroads on Route 60, as one of the drivers lost control over his vehicle when a porcupine was crossing the street, which caused him to hit the other vehicle.
