The local rights activist Mutaz Basharat affirmed that an Israeli settler erected a mobile house and a sheep pen over a land of 350 dunums, owned by Palestinian citizens.

Basharat pointed out that the settler erected the mobile house to pave the way for the confiscation of the whole land which is located near the illegal Israeli settlement of Makhula. He said a number of Israeli settlers had earlier built settlement outposts near the area in anticipation of confiscating the whole land. Israeli authorities had evacuated nearly 1000 dunums confiscated by Israeli settlers in 1980
